This natural park is covered by lava rocks, spited by the volcanoes during two main eruptions: one that lasted 6 years, from 1730 to 1736, the other one in 1824.
This journey is a must for anybody that wants to visit the inner Lanzarote.
Hiking in The Natural Park of The Volcanoes. 3 hours and about 7 kilometres of trail in the middle of a wonderful environment where you will learn about everything related to vulcanism: eruptions, magma, lava, caldera... The beauty of the landscape will leave you open-mouthed.
Splendid views on a lava rocks natural museum. The area is very well conserved and it almost look like an outside museum! Here and there, the hiker can observe a few plants and animals that made it to live in those harsh conditions.
Licensed guide. The expert guide will talk about the geology related to volcanoes and lava as well as the importance of it in Lanzarote and in the Canarian archipelago in general. You will learn how the islands looked like millions years ago and much more!
