Canary Islands Day

For the day of the Canary Islands we have prepared a very special plan for you. Our first experience is in Arafo with Bodegas Ferrera in an unusual place surrounded by the lava tongues of the Volcán de las Arenas, better known as El Volcán de Arafo.

We will start the activity with a tour that begins in the Corona Forestal, passing through a spectacular volcanic landscape where we will understand the nature of the place, learning about the different vegetation levels and their peculiarities, where species such as the blue tajinaste stand out. In addition, this will lead us to understand the suitability of the landscape for the development of human activities, one of which we will be able to learn about at the end of the route at the Bodegas Ferrera estate: the cultivation of vines.

In this last part of the activity, we will delve into the rigorous labour carried out by this family for more than two generations to produce the most outstanding organic wines of the archipelago. We will enjoy a tasting of these wines at different times during the activity, combining it with various appetizers:

• A glass of fruity rosé wine + gofio pella with almond honey at the end of the trail (prior to the visit to the farm).
• Tasting of two organic wines during the visit to the estate
• Organic picnic made with a sandwich of millet bread spread with tomato, olive oil, oregano and white cheese, lemon 'rosquete'.

With this action we contribute to meeting Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible production and consumption . It is a Senda that promotes local culture and products. Through this experience, we learn about the way vines are treated with ecological practices, encourage the consumption of local products and contribute to generating a flow of visitors in optimal conditions for the environment and local communities.
