San Cristóbal de La Laguna, a World Heritage Site, is a fascinating little university town.

Its cobbled streets and colonial architecture are filled with a special light. It has beautiful buildings with coffered wooden balconies and volcanic stone churches.

From Santa Cruz you can reach La Laguna in 10 minutes by car or by tram in about 45 minutes.

Bear in mind the humidity in this city, its temperature is much lower than the rest of Tenerife.

2. Visit the Museum of Science and the Cosmos

A place to see in Tenerife with children is this museum. It is located in San Cristóbal de La Laguna and is the Museum of Science and the Cosmos, an interactive centre where children will discover the secrets of science and the cosmos, as its name suggests.

3. A good walk around Puerto de La Cruz

In Puerto de la Cruz, the most traditional quarter of Puerto de la Cruz, the fishermen's quarter (La Ranilla) has been flooded with colour thanks to the various works of street art that adorn facades and walls that were once devoid of life.

The aim of the "Puerto Street Art" project is for locals and tourists alike to take a tour of the city discovering each of the 17 murals to be discovered. Discover it with the little ones!

4. Visit the Botanical Garden in Puerto de La Cruz

The Botanical Garden with a special collection of native plants, a large collection of tropical and subtropical plants that are perfectly adapted to the climate of our island. This botanical garden is one of the most beautiful gardens in Tenerife.

It was founded in 1788. Its official name is Jardín Climatizado La Orotava, but it is also known as Jardín Botánico del Puerto de la Cruz.

This is because Puerto de la Cruz formerly belonged to the municipality of La Orotava.

It is a very peaceful place to stroll around and definitely worth a visit with the little ones in the house.
