The Teide National Park is undoubtedly the icon of the island of Tenerife, being one of the most outstanding landscapes of the archipelago. At 3,715 m high, Teide is the highest peak in Spain and the most visited National Park in Europe.
In addition to this, it is one of the most ideal enclaves for stargazing, having the Star Light world certificate. In this experience, we will be able to get to know it in all its facets: day, sunset and night.
We will enjoy the only accommodation in this National Park, the Hotel Parador, with more than a hundred years of history on top of lava. It is one of the most outstanding accommodations on the island, as it is located in one of the best-known enclaves of the park.
Enjoy points of interest such as Roques de Garcia or discover the flora and fauna of the area through a network of more than 5 trails that start from this accommodation, all with imminent views of one of the highest volcanoes in the world.
At sunset, the sunset will leave an unparalleled landscape in which the lava intensifies its red tones and blends with the blues of the sky to create an unparalleled stellar ceiling.
With this starry ceiling, we can enjoy a stargazing activity at Minas de San José, another of the park's places of interest.
We begin with astronomical twilight, explaining the visible sky with the naked eye. Basic notions of orientation will teach us how to observe the sky and locate, for example, the North Star.
At nightfall, we will stargaze and move around the ecliptic, searching for the zodiacal constellations and the visible planets and, using Greek mythology, we will try to understand the figures of the most remarkable constellations and the secrets of the universe.
After this, we will observe the most interesting stars of the night with the help of our professional telescope and learn to recognise the constellations with the help of our accredited starlight guide.
